| Aboriginal Architecture: Living Architecture is a in-depth documentary film showing how aboriginal architecture reflects the diversity of Native cultures and the way different architectural styles developed in response to the different natural environments across North America. It also discovers how the past is carried forward in the design and use of contemporary buildings in modern Native communities.
Political, financial and cultural changes are creating a renaissance of native controlled building design in North America. This documentary looks at seven communities and how they are adapting and re-interpreting traditional forms using modern materials for contemporary purposes. Pueblo, Mohawk, Inuit, Crow, Navajo, Coast Salish, and Haida each have their own environments and cultures but find commonality in their approach to traditional form and the architectural environment.
