Experience Christmas In The Clouds this Holiday Season
The NAPT staff celebrated the holidays Saturday by watching Christmas In The Clouds at "The Ross" Lincoln, Nebraska's own art film house. "Clouds" is a lighthearted tale of love, bingo, tribal enterprise, and mistaken identity. The cast features Graham Greene, Sheila Tousey, Rita Coolidge, Wes Studi, M. Reach the Rez Radio Debuting in December
Reach the Rez Radio will debut Friday December 23rd, 2005 at 9pm ET. The program will feed from then on every Friday at 9pm ET with repeats at 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Reach the Rez Radio is a high energy, hip hop "mix show"/"talk show" program. The broadcast will update listeners on Reach the Rez Tour progress and events, as well as feature on-air interviews produced at different locations throughout the tour. The Reach the Rez Tour is headlined by well-known actor and rapper Litefoot (Cherokee).Reach the Rez Radio is a production of Association for American Indian Development. Change to NAPT Funding Deadlines
The next deadline for Public Television funding through NAPT is July 12, 2006. The single annual deadline will replace the previous March R&D and September Open Call grant rounds. The change is made to increase service to the Native producer community and staff efficiency. New guidelines will be posted early next year. Native producers will be able to apply for Research and Development funding at $25,000 to production and finishing contracts for up to $100,000.
Native Radio Theater Project's New Project Coordinator
The Native Radio Theater Project at NAPT has a new project coordinator. "Kutchiak" John Gregg (Inupiat/Hopi), producer of Native Sounds-Native Voices, brings his production talents to the project. In conjunction with Native Voices at the Autry National Center in Los Angles, NRT will bring works by Native writers to life through radio production that will feature Native actors, radio and recording artists from around the country. International Media Development Fund (IMDF) / International Call 2006. Deadline: January 20, 2006. IMDF provides production funds for independent producers who are non-U.S. citizens, helping them to create documentaries for American television.
Open Call. Deadline: February 10, 2006. Open Call provides finishing funds for single public television programs on any subject, from any viewpoint and in any genre.
LinCS. Deadline: May 25, 2006. Local Independents Collaborating With Stations (LInCS) provides matching funds to partnerships between public television stations and independent producers.

SILVERDOCS is seeking documentary features and shorts that demonstrate excellence in cinematic craft and innovation in storytelling. The International Documentary Conference runs concurrently, June 15-17, allowing filmmakers access to all Conference panels and workshops. The Conference brings together over 450 leading industry filmmakers and executives from around the world for panels, meetings and pitch sessions that address the art, craft and business of documentary.
