"Making Your Documentary Matter 2007" is the Center's third annual conference for documentary filmmakers, non- profit communications directors, funders and students on the latest techniques to make documentary a powerful communications tool for social change.

    Join filmmakers, outreach specialists and foundation representatives for a series of panel discussions on the latest in documentary outreach, including keynote speaker Robert Greenwald, Brave New Films and director of Iraq for Sale. Space is limited!!

    Native Voices at the Autry 2006/2007 Call for Scripts

    Native Voices at the Autry is devoted to the development and production of new works for the stage by Native American playwrights. Native Voices brings established, mid-career, and/or emerging playwrights to the Autry National Center in Los Angeles to workshop material with professional directors, dramaturges, and actors. Through workshops, staged readings, festivals and retreats, Native Voices at the Autry supports Native American playwrights and their individual creative processes, often from original idea to production. In addition to serving Native writers, Native Voices creates opportunities for Native actors, directors, and key theatre artists to practice and advance their craft.


    CPB Radio Program Fund Request for Proposals
    Corporation for Public Broadcasting

    The Corporation for Public Broadcasting seeks radio programming proposals in three categories:

    • Programming that addresses issues of concern to American citizens
    • Projects that increase public service through the Internet
    • Research that identifies and develops major programming initiatives or strengthens the public service of existing national programs

    Second Annual Independent Lens Online Shorts Festival

    Submission deadline: April 23, 2007. Independent filmmakers are invited to submit short- form films, 10 minutes or less in length and in all genres. All submitted shorts to the Independent Lens Online Shorts Festival will be screened and reviewed be an esteemed jury of leading independent filmmakers, interactive producers and industry executives. The grand prize-winner will be awarded $2,500 and a national television premiere on Independent Lens, provided that all PBS broadcast standards and policies have been met. Ten additional winners will be showcased on the Independent Lens Web site at PBS.org. Winners will be announced in Fall 2007.

    KTEH in San Jose Seeks Short Films or video i Series
    KTEH Logo

    KTEH Public Television's video i has become the Bay Area's premier showcase of independent film and video. The series is in its 11th season of presenting and celebrating the voices seldom heard in the mass media. video i showcases documentaries, narratives, short films and experimental video made by those artists on the cutting edge of cinema -- independent filmmakers. Series Producer Scott Gracheff contacted NAPT for submissions and referrals to filmmakers to fill out the current season.

    Films must be interesting and entertaining, and reflect the cultural diversity, lifestyles and viewpoints of our viewers. Documentaries, narratives, short films and experimental video any length up to 55 minutes will be considered.
