Native American Public Telecommunications (NAPT) is accepting scripts for its third season of the Native Radio Theater project.

Scripts should be short works, 10-minute or one-act plays no more than an hour in length from Native American theater companies, authors or playwrights. Postmarked deadline is Dec. 20, 2007. A national panel will select three finalists by April. Winners will split a prize of $1,000. Funding for production will also be available for chosen projects.

The VisionMaker Film Festival kicks off at 6 p.m., Nov. 16, at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center in Lincoln, Neb.

Five filmmakers will be in Lincoln to discuss their work and make presentations in university and public school classrooms during the festival Nov. 16-29. Support for the festival comes from the Cooper Foundation, the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Humanities Council, and the Lincoln Journal Star, a Lee Enterprises publication.

NAPT, a member of the National Minority Consortia, invites you to submit an application for the NMC Journalism Fellowship, a partnership between the NMC and journalism schools around the country to create fellowships for recent journalism graduates and second year journalism graduate students. The NMC's goal is to bring a younger and more diverse set of voices into the reporting around the 2008 elections on PBS and other public media outlets.
