Participants can record their National Day of Listening interviews using equipment that they already have available to them. StoryCorps offers a free Do-It-Yourself Instruction Guide with equipment recommendations, great questions to ask and ideas for preserving and sharing interviews at nationaldayoflistening.org.

AIROS DJ Aden Marshall in Chicago

In late October, AIROS Audio's DJ Aden Marshall went to Chicago for the Third Coast International Audio Festival and was a recent New Voice Scholarship recipient.

While in Chicago, Marshall met the head of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, learned about different types of audio--like sound effects and recording--and met several fellow young broadcasters trying to break through in the media.

Marshall thought that Chicago was a great city and was very excitied to have a chance to see some of the sites. Marshall also hung out in downtown Chicago for a bit, and was an eyewitness to some crazy Halloween costumes down at Wicker Park and the Navy Pier.

"It was a great experience over all and I would love to go back some day," said Marshall.
