34TH AIFF Hosts Free Panels/Workshops On Nov. 12
This year the 34th annual American Indian Film Festival, (Nov.6-14, 2009) will be hosting TWO PANELS/WORKSHOPS at the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf on Thursday Nov. 12.
*10:00am – “Native American Women vs. Hollywood Stereotypes”. This panel explores the stereotypes of Native women in Hollywood from the common portrayal of the “Indian Princess” to the modern Native woman today. Panelists include Shirley Cheechoo, Carole Nee-ta-key Marie, Larissa Fasthorse, Kateri Walker and Casey Camp-Horinek.
*1pm – CBS will conduct an intensive actors workshop with CBS VP of Casting, Fern Orenstein. The workshop session will focus on analyzing actors' headshots and offer specific critiques on the principles of acting and casting auditions.
