Jessica Rustad

As Marketing Director for Vision Maker Media, Jessica serves as the liaison between producers, vendors, and the organization. She manages the details of each marketing project, DVD authoring, and creative service—ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and technical specifications are met while projects move from concept to completion. Jessica graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communications degree and is currently a post-baccalaureate pre-medicine student. She has held leadership roles with the American Marketing Association Lincoln-Nebraska chapter and Lincoln Downtown Rotary Club #14. Jessica is currently a member of the Junior League of Lincoln, a member of NU Meds, a marketing mentor for the American Marketing Association, and holds multiple volunteer positions with Rotary, Bryan Health Systems, Nebraska Mission of Mercy, and The Gathering Place. Prior to joining Vision Maker Media, Jessica worked as a webmaster for a public school system, was an on-air radio talent/board operator, and worked in account management for a full-service communications agency in the Midwest.

Eleven production contracts from Vision Maker Media have been approved for the delivery of documentary and new media projects to the Public Broadcasting System. “The purpose of this funding is to increase the diversity of voices available to PBS viewers,” says Vision Maker Media Executive Director Shirley K. Sneve (Rosebud Sioux). “We encourage Native Americans to take on significant creative leadership roles, such as director, producer and editor. We want Native voices to have creative control, and not just in an advisory capacity.”
